Yes it is because we don't know what they are doing with our data. They don't store my database online and I'm the only one who has a copy of it. Stop spreading misinformation out of fear. There is nothing you can say to unsubstantiated that.Īre keepass and bitwarden better than lastpass? In my opinion, yes.Īre they better for the reasons you've stated? No. FLOSS software is not immediately more secure that does not logically follow. However, I cannot STAND that people constantly shit on lastpass with shitty arguments, based on fear alone, that are unsubstantiated. I've used KeePass, LastPass, and BitWarden. I've never really used BitWarden so can't comment on it, but LastPass I have and it's terrible in comparison to KeePass Also, so is lastpass.Īnd LastPass doesn't, in some demonstrable way? No copyright law in the universe is going to stop me. KeePass is the best solution, its open source, free, cross platform and respects your privacy. You have no idea if keepass is sending your information in playtext. I can guarantee YOU haven't done a code audit yourself, and even if you did, we've seen that major issues can and have been missed in code audits. Passwords could be transferred in plain text and maybe employees could read your passwords, we don't know anything. LastPass can't be trusted because we can't read their source code It doesn't matter if Dropbox or any other cloud service is prone to attacks, the KeePass database file is encrypted and can't be read without the password. Never trust a company to keep your data secure for you especially when it's a database with all your passwords. * No discussions of specific VPNs – please visit r/VPN or our PrivacyGuides coverage of VPNs.
