The container stops pieces flying around so you can slam down on harder items (definitely need to do it for onions and carrots). I wouldn't try bell pepper, cheese, chicken, squash or ham as I'd have to spend ages trimming them to fit. The instruction booklet says it can do butternut squash, bell pepper, medium-hard cheese, jicama, cooked beets, ham, cooked boneless chicken, pitted olives. If you mostly need to chop or slice onions or carrots, I suggest buying either a small-size dedicated onion gadget or a beefier but physically much larger and more capacious gadget that'll handle all the food items mentioned in this section of my review, such as a Nicer Dicer (which you can buy on Amazon).īased on my experience, I expect This Gadget would also manage the following, which I'll be trying at some point: sprouts, cooked new potatoes. It can struggle with harder items and for sure they need more pushing effort - onion, shallot, carrot - and to the extent that you wonder if the blade is a bit underpowered. I find it really good for non-squishy things such as button mushrooms, radishes, zucchini, hard-boiled eggs, apple, celery. For a video demo see YouTube for the manufacturer's promotion "Kuhn Rikon 2 Cup Push Chopper with Two Blades and Storage Lid on QVC" on. There's an instruction booklet, which includes 8 recipes. Good box presentation if you want to give it as a gift. Straightforward to clean, but the blades can be a tad fiddly depending on the kind of food.ħ. Efficient for small-sized pieces only, and a small maximum quantity per push (the container takes up to 2 cups).Ħ. Deals with a variety of produce, but hard work for hard items and no good for squishy items.Ĥ. The small size makes it a very niche tool, but having two different blades adds some versatility.ģ. Good concept - the container stops food flying around when cut, and the blade bases are there to release any food stuck in the blades.Ģ. Slices/dices uniformly and faster than I can do with a knife. ![]() ![]() To learn more about how and for what purposes Amazon uses personal information (such as Amazon Store order history), please visit our Privacy Notice.ġ.
